A strengthening nor’easter is moving up the coast. For us, it’s bringing the soaking rain that we need. Trees, lawns, and flowers are just exploding with color as they drink it up.
Tim Williams summed it up nicely today “the ground is getting a drink of water.” Our rainfall deficit was nearly 5″ going into today, so today’s rain is not going to make a big dent in that number.
After another seasonably chilly start, the brilliant sunshine has warmed us up nicely this afternoon. BWI-Marshall topped out at 74 degrees.
It’s been a spectacular stretch of days. However, while we have been benefiting from lots of sunshine, the rainfall deficit continues to grow.
Despite more clouds and a northwesterly wind, two factors that usually cool us down, we warmed up nicely on Wednesday afternoon.
March is officially in the record books and the final numbers are in. Even with the cool end to the month, 2012 was the third warmest March ever on record.
