Baltimore County school system
The Baltimore County school system has paid a total of more than $150,000 to two employees who have voluntarily left their positions.
School system documents show that Baltimore County has spent more than $5 million over the past few years on textbooks and a curriculum overhaul despite warnings from state officials.
A new contract may not be in Dr. Hairston’s future and the reasons why are not clear.
The projected budget shortfall is between $10 million and $24 million in the 2013 fiscal year.
