After a beautiful afternoon, things have really changed. We managed to top out around 70º at BWI, but now the rain has arrived. Showers are currently pushing across the region.
It’s 14 degrees warmer this morning than yesterday.
A period of unsettled weather is in store Tuesday through at least Wednesday.
Unseasonably cool conditions today and with the high pressure in the Ohio Valley moving eastward, we will see a windy day as well.
Looking at the surface map we see a cold front moving through the region this morning as an area of low pressure moves through Ontario towards Labrador.
Following yesterday’s rainfall, we will be moving closer to fall over the next couple of days.
Throughout the entire region, most temperatures this afternoon will still manage to reach the upper 60s and lower 70s, even though clouds will only be breaking for limited sunshine.
A flood watch is in effect from 10 a.m. through this evening for portions of Maryland.
As a warm front slowly lifts north of the region, we will continue to deal wiLl plenty of clouds & limited sunshine.
Looking at current surface map we have high pressure over the Mid-Atlantic and a stationary boundary across the Carolinas which wraps around the Appalachian mountains into the TN Valley.
So far, so good. The Orioles first ALCS game is underway.
After a chilly and brisk Sunday afternoon, skies will turn mostly clear tonight.
