Not only is Baltimore known for its charm, it has been the subject of some of the most famous scenes in film performed by Hollywood’s elite. From 1980s cult classics to political thrillers, movies from every genre and style have the “land of pleasant living” to thank for many of their best shots.
Lights, cameras, action. Thursday night marks the start of the granddaddy of all the Baltimore summer open air film festivals.
The Senator Theatre is back. The 74-year-old Baltimore landmark has been closed since spring of 2012, but it reopens this week with a fundraiser featuring, “Hairspray,” from Charm City’s own, John Waters.
An annual celebration comes back to Baltimore, honoring the working women of the city.
