A serial bank robber the FBI dubbed the “I-55 Bandit” for a series of crimes he pulled off in five states as a teenager has been ordered to spend five years in federal prison.
A 19-year-old southern Illinois man suspected of being the “I-55 Bandit” has been indicted on a felony count of bank robbery.
The so-called “I-55 Bandit” is finally behind bars. He’s accused of robbing a dozen banks across five states, including here in Maryland. The suspect surrendered to the FBI.
