U.S. Customs and Border Protection say agriculture specialists intercepted a destructive moth at the Port of Baltimore in a shipment of organic soybeans from China.
The Maryland Department of Agriculture says it’s reducing its gypsy moth spraying to about 5,200 acres this year, down from more than 12,000 acres in 2013.
Maryland officials are concerned about a possible gypsy moth outbreak in parts of the state.
