Naval Academy Sex Assault Case
A federal judge has denied a request by a U.S. Naval Academy midshipman accused of sexual assault to recuse the academy’s superintendent from the case.
An investigative officer who presided at a hearing to help decide whether three midshipmen should face court-martial over a sexual assault allegation has forwarded his recommendations to the school’s superintendent, the academy’s spokesman said Monday.
A U.S. Naval Academy midshipman accused of sexually assaulting a fellow student initially told a Navy investigator that he hadn’t interacted with her at a party, but he changed his story in a later interview to say he had sex with her, the investigator testified Sunday.
