Former second baseman Roberto Alomar is elected to the Orioles Hall of Fame. Alomar will be inducted Friday, August 2, alongside former O’s scout and baseball operations executive Don Pries.
As a lifelong Baltimore Orioles fan, I have had my share of players that I loved.
After a narrow miss last year, Bert Blyleven told voters they finally got it right by sending him into the Hall of Fame along with Roberto Alomar.
There have been a lot of great players to put on the Orange and Black, but arguably Alomar was the the best. He was the best defensive second baseman I ever saw, and offensively he could do it all.
