After the homerun derby, there was not a huge change in the second half of the season, especially not for Adam Jones who has been shining for the Orioles recently. Machado is also getting back in the swing of things again. Davis is not the hitter who he was last year but when the O’s need him, he seems to come through. Unlike the Tampa Bay Rays who had less than 9% to make it to the post season, the Orioles have a 61% chance, that is pretty high for the O’s.
Staying within the AL East, Neyer pointed out the glaring gap in the Orioles’ roster—one that many speculate they might trade for to find a solution.
“The Orioles are like every other team in the division–they’re flawed. Not fatally, because of the division they’re in, but they need an ace [pitcher] badly.”

This past Friday, the Baltimore Orioles began a four-game series against the Tampa Bay Rays at Camden Yards.
The American League East is showing signs of either being one of the weaker divisions in baseball or just so competitive that the teams are beating up on one another.
Barring any rain outs the Orioles will play game 81 of the 2014 season Sunday afternoon when they close out this 4-game series with the Rays.
