United States Geological Survey
The United States Geological Survey reports that there was a minor earthquake in eastern Frederick County.
The 5.8-magnitude earthquake that rattled the East Coast on Aug. 23 continues to produce aftershocks as the tally for damages near its central Virginia epicenter has grown to more than $17 million to help rebuild one communities’ homes, schools, businesses and government buildings.
Crews with the United States Geological Survey have spent the last few days placing storm-surge sensors up and down the East Coast.
The Energy Department says it will reduce its estimate of undiscovered natural gas in New York, Pennsylvania and other states following a new report by the U.S. Geological Survey.
