Sandy has now been downgraded from a hurricane to a post tropical cyclone. However, conditions are still severe with heavy rain and strong winds.

The National Weather Service warns that rain from Hurricane Irene will likely cause flooding in parts of southern and central Maryland and the Eastern Shore.
Maryland Natural Resources Police say boaters and anglers should avoid the upper Potomac River through Friday because of hazardous water levels.
Some of the rain today and early tonight could come down hard enough to cause flooding, especially in some areas of poor drainage. Also, because of the soaking that occurred on Sunday, some area rivers and streams may encounter some flooding tonight and tomorrow, too.
