World AIDS Day is Dec. 1 and in an effort to bring awareness and information to the public about HIV and AIDS, free HIV testing and health clinics will be offered across various locations in Maryland.
Health officials in Prince George’s County are sponsoring an event designed to promote AIDS awareness.
AIDS was first recognized 31 years ago. Medical advancements and education has helped in the fight against the disease, but cities like Baltimore are an example that there’s still a long way to go.
In the 30 years since AIDS and HIV was diagnosed in America, Baltimore and Maryland have seen their rates of new infections climb to be among the worst in the nation.
