Cinco de Mayo is a fun day that is celebrated on May 5. Originally a Mexican holiday commemorating democracy and freedom, more Americans than Mexicans now celebrate with great food and drink. While the holiday has its roots in the western part of the United States, Baltimore boasts some excellent locations to enjoy this day.

At Cancun Cantina, there is a party every night, but it really goes all out for Cinco de Mayo. The dress code is casual, but there are some rules listed on the website. Among a slew of original cocktails, Cancun Cantina’s signature margarita, the Cantina-rita, will be a hit on May 5. There are drink and food specials, live music and much more to keep you and your amigos entertained throughout the evening.

Located in the popular Fells Point area of downtown Baltimore, Latin Palace is a great spot to celebrate. An excellent dance club, it also has a mouth-watering menu featuring a full assortment of delicious Latin treats. Happy hour is 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. daily. Visit any Wednesday through Saturday from 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and take advantage of a free salsa lesson. Then you will be able to wow your friends on Cinco de Mayo with your fabulous dance moves.
