Named as one of Baltimore’s 25 Best Bars, Cat’s Eye Pub has been a staple of the Baltimore community since the 1700′s. A nice, small, quaint pub in Fells Point Cat’s Eye provides multiple cold, fresh beers on tap. For Fat Tuesday,the pub will have beads, live music and “Hurricane specials.” This place gets high marks for bringing in good local bands, so don’t plan on talking all night. The party goes long into the night with the pub’s wonderful variety of lagers, ales and stouts.

Located in Federal Hill, Mad River Bar and Grille provides a youthful atmosphere that appeals to the college crowd. The bar offers drink specials most years on Mardi Gras, and employees say that this year’s Mardi Gras bash will be no different. Expect the bar to be packed (as usual) for the holiday, but don’t let the crowds keep you away. This place is always worth a visit. Bonus: Regulars rave about Mad River’s wings!

The Mardi Gras party seeks to replicate the Southern roots of Mardi Gras, from beads to succulent gumbo.
