Mixology and Bartending Operations

Price: $540

Learn all about being a bartender-- from opening and closing, bar set up to, of course, all about booze. Try out the program before committing: Maryland Bartending Academy offers a free introductory class to give you a feel for the tools of the trade, the instructors' approach and what being a bartender could mean for you. The class allows students to experience the program before deciding whether or not to enroll with an overview of the program and questions addressed by MBA's elite staff of instructors, all of whom have years of expertise in the bartending industry.Maryland Bartending Academy-- a professionally accredited school-- boasts a reputation that spans 31 years, with full approval from the Maryland Higher Education Commission and an approved training provider through the Workforce Investment Act. Plus, as a member of the Professional Bartending Schools of America, MBA graduates may use their credentials to seek upscale bartending positions anywhere in the United States. Free lifetime refresher classes are also available for graduates to stay on par with the most intricate bartending skills. Maryland Bartending Academy offers four course schedules, including night and weekend options, but it no longer offers a flair course.

Alcohol Awareness Training

Price: $25 for students and $50 for non-students

This class is available to both students and non-students of the Maryland Bartending Academy and looks outstanding on a resume. The class is an extension of the other courses in the 45-hour MBA program with focus on ID-checking procedures, cut-off techniques, facts about alcohol, state laws and responsible business practices. Approved by the Comptroller of Maryland, all students will receive an additional state certification upon completing the course.
