What about Tim Buk Tu Crab Cakes

  • alex ferguson

Boxhill Restaurant in Abingdon has the best crab cakes bar none

    • Allie

I agree!!!!! They are SO BIG and cooked just right! I couldn’t finish eating just one!

  • John

Boxhill use to have fantastic crab cakes, but recently they must be using a lot of filler- they use to have lumps and lumps of crab meat. We’ve orderd the crab cake platters three times since January 2011 and there seems to be less and less white lump crab meat.

  • Cristina

I used to love Boxhill’s crabcakes too. Not so great anymore. We now prefer the crabcakes at Fisherman’s Catch at the Forest Hill Lanes. It’s 11.99 for the crabcake and 2 sides and in my opinion much better!

  • Eternity

G & M should not be on the list. They have added too much filler and the crab cakes are always cold when you receive your order.

    • Rick

      I agree with you “Eternity”

  • SLyn

    What about Pappas?

  • Anthony Rufifin

I can’t believe there was no mention of ” By The Docks “, which is one of the biggest and tastiest crab cakes around.

  • craig

Friendly Farms and the Prime Rib are the best. They are a bit pricy but the best you will ever have. No filler at all. 31.00 for 2 8oz c.cakes. I recomend Friendly Farms been around since the 50’s long wait on weekends

  • Fred

Very true about G & M. I know someone that has dissected their crab cake. At the time there was only 5-ounces of crab meat in that huge crab cab cake. Also, G & M will NOT fry that crab cake. If a restaurant doesn’t give you the fried option, that usually indicates the crab cake is not real. A fake crab cake blows apart in the deep fryer.

    • Robin

You also have to make sure the cakes are cooked all the way through. 90% of the time they aren’t. Worked there for 3 years. I can’t tell you how many times the cakes were not completely cooked. That is why they are so “creamy”.

    • Rick

Hey fred, I was wondering who in the hell put G&M on this list.???
Who ever it was must not ever had a crab cake before.

  • edthe bed

What you’re getting in a lot of crabcakes especially during winter is crab meat from Thailand, mexico & Vietnam. This is bad stuff & I won’t eat it. Besides the crab cakes from G&M that used to be so good & Snyders are the size of your balls also.

  • Rick

I have no Idea how you could put G&M crab cakes on your list.
I had one over the weekend and it was more like a FISH cake than a crab cake.
I’ll take Moe’s in Glen Burnie any day.
