We do an excellent job with kids at The Beatnik Barbershop!

    • The Old Beatnik

But what if the kid’s not a Beatnik?

    • tommy

yes the beatnik barbers are excellent!

  • Tim

There are some pretty good barber shops in Sydney, Australia. You should try here.

  • Gary

They missed the best when they left out SportClips. Kids love sports and where else can they watch the game and get a great haircut at the same time. The massaging shampoo chairs and the steam towel treatment are a favorite.

  • Tom

    Jerry’s Barber Shop
    (410) 780-0771
    1120 Old Eastern Ave, #C,
    Essex, MD 21221

Want an incredible haircut at an unbeatable price in Baltimore? Try
Jerry’s Barber Shop in Essex. With decades of experience and a
current price of only $10 (!!!), you will not find a better deal than this.
He provides a great hair cut for adults, and is great with kids. I’ve been
going to his shop since my oldest son got his first hair cut there, 16
years ago! Although Jerry is pretty well known in that area, I think
more people should know about him and his excellet barber shop.

Brian Bunce Barber’s on Belair Road in Perry Hall. They have the neatest little fire truck for kids to sit in for a haircut. My Son loves it!

    • Brandi

Love Brian Bunce. I take my 6 year old and he loves all of them. Love the fire truck, but it just too tall to sit in it. You forgot to mention all of the flat screens, at each station. Folks…these guys turn on cartoon network for these kids. LOL!

  • Ellen

Planet Kids have been around for 15 years and it’s no wonder why! Not only is it fun for the kids but great for the parents too! They not only specialize in infant and childrens cuts but also cool teen syles and adults as well. I’ve been going to the shop ever since my kids were little and even though they are in their teens, they still like to go and get a great cut! I’ve even had my hair hi-lited and eyebrows waxed and they did a fabulous job!

  • Lindsey

Cartoon Cuts @ Columbia is horrid… Not only are their waiting times ridiculously long, the haircuts are terrible. Had to go to the other hair place in the mall to get it fixed afterward.

    • Bree

Agreed! Worst cuts my boys have ever had are from that place.

  • Tony G

they obviously didnt visit any black barbershops

    • Chris

thats pretty racist, most barbers know how to cut any type of hair. Its all the same concept.

      • PartyArty

WRONG!!!!!!!! African hair IS muuuuuch different then white hair. You cut white hair with scissorrs for the most part whereas you must use clippers for african hair. And furthermore why is the statement racist????? It was just a statement for pete’s sake. An accurate one at that.

  • barbaraj

Angelo’s in Parkville has always been the best!! Kids love it, no tears, and when they turn into teens they refuse to go anywhere else..of course all there are good but the teens want “mos’

    • Tammy Wright

Absolutely!!! Moss is one heck of a Hairstylist. He is always modern with his own hairstyles, and the Teen guys love going there to get their hair cut by him. I must agree on this one!

  • DCK

Hair cuts by Chris at the John Lang Studio
    Owings Mills MD

very reasonable and terrific with not only kids but adults too

  • Balt21212

Anyone old enough to remember the kids’ barbershop in the basement of Hess Shoes, at the corner of York and Belvedere? (It’s now a restaurant!) You could take a sliding board to get down there from the first floor. Seemed like all the barbers were ex-Marines who specialized in buzz-cuts.

    • Danno

My thoughts exactly! I can hear my mom now telling the barber, “Short at the crown and just enough to part in the front”. AND the sliding board is still there!

  • Cutz Above

  • Dmacksgirl

I don’t think Tony G’s comment was meant to be racist. Even though in barber school the students are taught to do all types of hair, certain ethnic shops focus on ethnic cuts which many of the shops named in this article do not. If you want a “sharp” do, visit Electrifying Hair Design on Washington Blvd and ask for Mitch.

    • danno

Best “Ethnic” barber shop name? “Nappy by Nature” hands down winner!!

  • Penelope Lee

For a great barber shop great for boys try
    1108 S. Crain Hwy
    Glen Burnie, MD 21061

I used to take my 3 year old to cartoon cuts and every time I paid 15 dollars for a really bad hair cut and usually waited about 45 minutes for the cut. I walked into Tony’s one day with my 3 year old and they have pumping music, popcorn and candy for the kids, and have the best barbers and stylists in town. you pay anywhere from $7 for a shape up to $13 for a full hair cut. I will never go anywhere again.
