Best Painting Lessons For Adults In Baltimore

Located in Mt. Washington, The Painting Workshop offers introductory classes for everyone, including adults. Medium include acrylic, oil and watercolor painting. Classes are two hours long with class sizes that are relatively small. Topics center around techniques, theory and perspective. The Painting Workshop also offers various workshops, which are sure to be loads of fun. This is the perfect place to host your private painting party.

For the beginner or experienced painter, The Painted Palette features an event called Art and Wine. They will supply the art supplies while you supply the wine (or beer). You select the picture you want to paint from their offerings and follow step-by-step instructions to release your masterpiece. Classes are approximately two hours long. The Painting Palette is a great place to visit to have fun with family and friends in a socially relaxing setting.

The Maryland Institute College of Art, located in the Bolton Hill section of the city, offers undergraduate studies in various majors. One of the majors in painting. According to the MICA website, "Through a rigorous curriculum that explores traditional conventions and contemporary methods and forms, students in MICA's painting major develop the ability to give voice to their ideas. The major's studio and critique-based design fosters solid training and technical proficiency as well as independent expression, resulting in a highly energized program considered one of the best of its kind in the U.S".

Nestled along the Falls Road corridor in the Bare Hills area is the Mitchell School of Fine Arts. The school offers classes for adults in watercolor, pastels, drawing and oil painting. Owner Trevor Twist says they welcome all students regardless of their skill/ability level. Mitchell School of Fine Arts has been in existence for 50 years.

This studio offers two-hour classes for adults at reasonable rates. According to the website, "Classes cover drawing, painting, sculpture and watercolor in various subject matter." The website further states that "The goal of the Schuler School has been, and continues to be, to assure that future generations of artists receive the wisdom of the past while acquiring the creative freedom that only the mastery of traditional skills can provide." Schuler School of Fine Arts has been around since 1959.
