Here are some of the best places to take your pet for a checkup.  The animal hospitals are good places to be aware of in case there’s an emergency with your pet.

Light Street Animal Hospital – Dr. Trujillo.
The best in south baltimore and perhaps, all of the city.

    I HIGHLY recommend
    10019 Harford Road Parkville, MD 21234-1206 – (410) 668-4806
    Open Weekdays 9am-5pm; Sat 10am-3pm

I was recommended this vet after sending several thousdands dollars for skin allergy with my Cat at C.H.A.T , on York Rd who sadly appeared to be more interested in billing than animal care.

Northwind is reasonable and very pleasant!

Rosedale Aninmal Hospitial. They are wonderful. Go the extra mile and beyond. Spend a lot of time with you, explaining things. Don’t ever go to Banfield in PetSmart on 40 East. Totally missed a really obvious dx of cancer in my dog, we was in his last days, tried to tell me it was nothing. Thank goodness I took pics of my sick pup (before sadly having to put him down), wrote a lengthy complaint, and got a full refund.

I will never bring another animal to this place. They told me the most important test for my dog would be an xray. $300 for that visit my dog did not get better. I took him to another vet 3 days later and was told with his symptoms the most important test are blood and urine. My dog died from kidney failure 3 day later. Eastern Animal Hospital will take you for your money.

I am the hospital Administrator of Eastern Animal Hospital and I am deeply saddened by your loss. I have reviewed the medical record. Because of your pet’s recurring problems, both our veterinary technician and Veterinarian recommended a comprehensive work up (blood work, radiographs and urine). You chose to only do a lateral radiograph. Our main concern is the welfare of the pet, but we are limited by what the pet owner will allow us to do. Several attempts were made to phone you, all were unsuccessful. Again, I am sorry for your loss.

Ardmore on Loch Raven Blvd. is a great place to take your pets. Falls Rd. Animal hospital just about killed my cat and charged me about $1,500 for the privilege. When I got her back she could barely walk and was clearly in worse shape than when I originally brought her in. It looked like an intern was practicing how to insert an IV on her. I took her to Ardmore, they kept her for two days and about $300 later I brought her home and she has been great ever since. That incident happened about 4 yrs ago. She’s now 8 and still going strong. Thanks Ardmore.

Pleasantville Animal Hospital in Fallston, MD
    Dr. Scott Gounaris

Dr. Gounaris is an amazing vet with very caring staff. My family has taken all of their dogs and cats to him and we have never had a bad experience. He truly cares about the well being of your animals. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! He actually owned Northwind Animal Hospital before moving to Fallston!

      Gounaris is expensive $$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

  • Nancy Brown

Anne Arundel Veternary Hospital on Ritchie Hwy in Brooklyn Park. I have followed Dr. Greg Herbert for about 25 years from different hospitals. He is now permanently at AAVetHosp. He is the best! Great bedside manner (so to speak) with your baby, he even kissed my beloved poodle on the head (RIP).
