TTYM: 4 Incredible Golf Moments From Bubba Watson's Mini-Putt Trick To McIlroy's Messy Break-Up

by @TaraLipinsky

More Columns here.

We're visiting the golf world in this week's That Thing You Missed, how Rory McIlroy's messy breakup turned into success, another stroke of bad luck for Pablo Larrazabal, the newest women's U.S. Open player is only eleven and Bubba Watson is up to his old tricks again.

1. Bubba Watson's Mini-Putt Trick

Bubbba Watson is the master at trick shots. Even on miniature golf courses. I just wish he’d get a photographer who could learn how to use a camera phone. Seriously, what’s with the vertical video?

 2. Eleven Year Old Qualifies For the Women's U.S. Open

Actually, what’s more incredible than Bubba Watson’s latest trick shot is 11-year old Lucy Li qualifying for the women’s U.S. Open.

It’s even more incredible than golf pro Jim McLean taking her on at the ripe old age of 7.

But nothing is more amazing than the video he posted of her slamming rapid-fire style through a line of 20 golf balls at a driving range.

Just FYI, she was only eight when this video was shot?

Tell the truth; how well does your 8-year old even tie her own shoes?

The golf world and Twittersphere were abuzz when Irish golfer Rory McIlroy publicly announced his break-up with fiancé tennis pro Caroline Wozniacki. Did I mention the wedding invites had already been mailed?

"There is no right way to end a relationship that has been so important to two people," said McIlroy at a BMW PGA Championship press conference.

Well, perhaps there’s no “right” way break an engagement. But there’s certainly a “wrong” way and I’m pretty sure you’ve achieved it Rory.

Now, did I also mention he went on to win the tourney?

 4. Larrazabal's Unlucky Stroke

And just when you thought the McIlroy/Wozniaki split was the most awkward moment at the BMW PGA Championship - Pablo Larrazabal’s golf ball got wedged between some guy’s legs during his approach shot at the 18th hole.

Yep, you read that correctly.

Well, at least he wasn’t attacked by a swarm of hornets.
