Man Pleads Guilty To Mail Fraud

BALTIMORE (AP) -- A former California man has pleaded guilty to mail fraud in a plot to steal more than $380,000 from a Maryland hospital.

Thirty-seven-year-old John Milisitz, formerly of Encinitas, Calif., entered the plea Monday in U.S. District Court in Baltimore. He will be sentenced on Feb. 10.

According to the plea agreement, John Milisitz's mother, 58-year-old Margie Milisitz of Severna Park, worked at the Baltimore Washington Medical Center, overseeing the purchase of telecommunications services and equipment.

Prosecutors say Margie Milisitz submitted false invoices to the hospital and payments were deposited into bank accounts controlled by John Milisitz.

Margie Milisitz also pleaded guilty to mail fraud and will be sentenced on Jan. 11.
