Voltaggio To Open Second Restaurant In Frederick

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- A former "Top Chef" contender plans to open a second restaurant in downtown Frederick where his family has roots.

Bryan Voltaggio opened his first Frederick restaurant, called Volt, in 2008. It offers modern American cuisine, local produce and a fine dining experience.

Now Voltaggio says he is looking to open a more casual and family-oriented restaurant. He isn't revealing the name or specific details just yet, though. He says it will be a concept unique to downtown Frederick.

Voltaggio's brother, Michael Voltaggio, won the "Top Chef" title during the Bravo TV series in Las Vegas. Bryan Voltaggio won second place.
