Families Displaced After Townhouse Fire In Md.

CAPITOL HEIGHTS, Md. (AP) -- Authorities say as many as six families have been displaced from their homes following a townhouse fire near FedEx Field in Capitol Heights.

Prince George's County fire department spokesman Mark Brady says firefighters responded to a report of a fire in the 500-block of Garrett A. Morgan Boulevard about 8 p.m. Tuesday, where they found a blaze consuming the back wall of a three-story townhouse. He says the fire bypassed the home's sprinkler system and smoke alarms and extended to two other townhouses.

As many as six families from the row of townhouses were displaced.

Brady says the fire appears to have started in the garage area.
