Md. Man Sentenced In Slaying Of Visitor From Ala.
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Federal prosecutors say a Maryland man has been sentenced to 18 years in prison for killing an Alabama man in 2007.
Kevin Anthony Brown, 23, of LaPlata was sentenced on Friday. He was convicted in May of second-degree
murder while armed in the death of Leonard Branham, 21, of Birmingham.
According to evidence presented at trial, on April 14, 2007, Branham was with two women who got into an argument. Branham tried to break up the fight, and one of the women went to an apartment.
According to court documents, Brown came out of the apartment, fired a gun and fired a second shot, striking Branham in the back.
