B&O Railroad Museum Hosts Annual Train Garden

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- This holiday season, we have enjoyed sharing with you one of the great traditions of Baltimore: the holiday train garden.

Now, Mike Schuh wraps up the tour with the granddaddy of them all--the B&O Train Museum.

It's a scene best appreciated by looking through the eyes of a 5-year-old.

"A tiny, tiny city!" said Michael Grube.

Everywhere he looks, one thing is more interesting than the next.  So imagine deep interest like this, but one which doesn't fade with age.  Now you're talking about the 40 volunteers who make this happen.

"You pack a lot of scenery into a small space," said Alan Delgaudio.

Under the dome at the Roundhouse at the B&O, the visitors enjoy that the train gardens change every week.

"Each Saturday, we come out here and they have--every weekend since Thanksgiving--they have a different exhibit," said Brian Grube.

It's a place right in your backyard, yet a world away.

"Cattle, cars, video games, food, chickens, horses," Michael Grube said.

"And the kids' imagination--totally amazing," said Brian Grube.

The B&O Railroad Museum reopens for business Sunday at 11 a.m.  Admission is required to get to the train gardens.
