Intruder Allegedly Got Comfy In Md. Office Complex

OAKLAND, Md. (AP) -- The Garrett County Sheriff's Office says a homeless man spent a comfortable Christmas inside an Oakland building that houses a senior citizens center and a Head Start preschool program.

Detective Mark Pfaff said Tuesday that Kristopher Keeler, 19, spent a three-day weekend at the Community Action Building.

He says Keeler ate food from the kitchen, used a computer and stole a van for a Christmas night run into nearby West Virginia.

Keeler is being held without bond on burglary, theft and property-destruction charges and couldn't be reached for comment.

He was free on bond Christmas weekend while awaiting a hearing on earlier burglary charges.
