BLOG: Maybe They Should've Had A Longer Layoff
If you listen to my show, you know I'm a big Oregon Ducks football fan. I had been giddy with excitement for awhile now waiting for the BCS National Championship game between Oregon and the Auburn Tigers. Unfortunately, that wait became ridiculous. Over a month between the last times both teams took the field and the national title game Monday night. The rust was obvious. Cam Newton was missing open receivers, and Darron Thomas was making bad reads on the option all night long. Two teams that averaged over 40 points per game played to a combined 39. The defenses made some plays, but this was more about being out of sync than great defense in my opinion. Auburn won and I congratulate them. Hey, they might've still won with only a 2 week layoff, but that's the game I wanted to see
