Police Search For Police Impersonator---In Drag

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- City police are on the lookout for a man who is pretending to be a cop...while dressing in drag.

Kai Jackson spoke with a woman who says the fake cop pulled her over.

The events surrounding the traffic stops of at least two women are nothing short of bizarre.  As police look for the person impersonating an officer, one of the victims shares her story.

Erin Hartz still can't believe what happened to her on Dec. 17 while driving on a dark stretch of Falls Road in Baltimore City near the Streetcar Museum.

"I noticed a car was tailing me very closely from behind.  I assumed they were drunk," Hartz said.

She says she saw a flashing blue light.  She assumed it was police trying to pull her over, though she noticed strange things.

"I was confronted with a man who was obviously pretending to be a woman.  I did not know they were a fake cop at the time," she said.  "They were wearing a ginger colored bob, Harry Potter-like glasses, bright red lipstick, a lot of makeup caked on."

She drew a sketch of the person she says pulled her over.  The description matches that of a man who police say impersonated an officer on Sunday.  That man was wearing knee-high boots, a black wig, dark jacket with a patch and driving a blue or green Oldsmobile Alero.  They say he, too, dressed as a woman, pulled over a woman driver and stole her license.

If you have information, please call police.
