Hancock Mayor Retains Post

HANCOCK, Md. (AP) -- Hancock's mayor and two members of the Town Council kept their seats in a municipal election.

Mayor Daniel Murphy and Councilmen Sinclair Hamilton and Timothy Smith ran unopposed in Monday's election.

Only 70 of the town's 1,112 registered voters turned out for the election.

Murphy won his eighth two-year term.
