Md. Couple Found Dead In Home Near Cumberland

CUMBERLAND, Md. (AP) -- Police are investigating the apparent murder-suicide of a married couple in their rural home near Cumberland.

Allegany County Police Chief Robert Dick said Thursday that the preliminary indication is that Ronald Daniels, 65, shot his wife Jamie and then shot himself.

He says the bodies have been taken to the Office of the Chief State Medical Examiner in Baltimore for autopsies.

Dick says a family member called 911 shortly after 1 p.m. after finding the bodies in the home on Old Hancock Road in a mountainous area northeast of Cumberland near Rocky Gap State Park.
