Frederick To Consider Privatizing Services
FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- The Frederick County Commissioners are creating a committee to consider privatizing government services to cut costs.
The all-Republican board voted unanimously Thursday to establish the two-year panel.
Board President Blaine Young says the committee will explore every opportunity to move government functions and services to the private sector.
Young and three of the four other commissioners traveled last weekend to Sandy Springs, Ga., for what he called an inspiring look at how one municipality is privatizing public services.
