Presidents Day Work To Cause Metro Delays

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Metro is conducting significant track work during the Presidents Day weekend, closing two stations and causing significant delays.

Metro will be doing track work on the blue, orange and red lines. On the blue and orange lines, no trains will run between the Metro Center and L'Enfant Plaza stations, and the two stations in between will be closed. Metro will operate free shuttle buses to get riders through the affected area, but customers should add 40 minutes to their travel plans in the area.

In addition, red line trains will share one track in two locations, between the Shady Grove and Twinbrook stations and between the Rhode Island Ave and New York Avenue stations, causing delays.
