Salisbury Mayor To Give State Of The City Address

SALISBURY, Md. (AP) -- Salisbury Mayor Jim Ireton is preparing to deliver his State of the City address.

Ireton is expected to highlight successes from the past year and plans for the future. Among the topics he will focus on are crime and Wicomico River.

The mayor is scheduled to deliver the address from Salisbury University at 6 p.m. Monday. It will be the first time the mayor has given the address in person. Last year, Ireton released the address online and via e-mail.

It will also be the first time the annual address will be delivered from Salisbury University. Ireton says it's fitting that the address be given there -- as opposed to the Government Office Building where it is traditionally held -- because "the relationship between the university and the city has never been stronger."
