WJZ Sits Down With Baltimore Actor Josh Charles

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- More than four million Americans subscribe to People magazine and the latest issue highlights a local actor who's made it big.

Mary Bubala reports Josh Charles is the star of CBS' hit series "The Good Wife" and he gives a major shoutout to his hometown of Baltimore.

Charles is locked in a slow-burning love triangle on the show that viewers can't seem to get enough of.  In this week's issue of People, Charles shows millions of readers why he loves his hometown.  He showcases locations from the Inner Harbor to his favorite place to eat crabs to Edgar Allan Poe's gravesite, whose poem inspired the name for Charles' favorite football team, the Ravens.

"I love Baltimore.  It's a place for me more than just the games to get away and see my family, chill and lay back," Charles said.

He attended Baltimore School for the Arts and his film debut was in John Waters' "Hairspray."  But by far, his role as attorney Will Gardner in "The Good Wife" is garnering the most attention for Charles.  He's now recognized wherever he goes.

"Most people are really nice and they're just letting you know that they like the show and they are enjoying it.  That's positive," he said.  "They want to see what audiences respond to and what they are intrigued by and keep writing for it."

Charles was tight-lipped about if we will ever see Will and Alicia get together.

That issue of People will be on newsstands Friday.
