Man Convicted Of Desecrating Olney Synagogue

OLNEY, Md. (AP) -- A Montgomery County man has been convicted of desecrating an area synagogue with spray paint last year.

Ian Baron, 23, was found guilty Wednesday of four counts of vandalism and one count of defacing religious property.

Authorities say anti-Semitic graffiti was spray-painted on the exterior walls, retaining walls, light posts and parking lot of B'Nai Shalom Synagogue in Olney in July.

Prosecutors say Baron will be sentenced on May 6. He faces more than six years in prison.
