Damascus Teen Killed In Germantown Accident

GERMANTOWN, Md. (AP) -- Montgomery County Police say a Damascus teenager has been killed in an accident on Route 27 in Germantown.

Police say Kirsten Danielle Mergner, 18, died after the car she was driving crossed the center line and collided with an SUV driven by Jill Yvette Gole, 50, of Mount Airy. The accident occurred about 5 a.m. Monday near Brink Rd. Mergner was pronounced dead at the scene and Gole was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say conditions at the time were icy and windy.
