Md. Man Charged With Threatening District Judge

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- A Hagerstown man faces a charge of threatening a public official after he talked about killing a local judge.

William Spence, 26, was being held Tuesday at the Washington County jail on $25,000 bail after a bail-review hearing Monday.

Spence was charged Thursday for comments he allegedly made at the Potomac Center, a treatment facility in Hagerstown for people with intellectual and mental disabilities.

A worker there told police that Spencer had said he was going to send a death threat to a local judge.

Police say the intended target was Washington County District Judge Dana Moylan Wright. She convicted Spence of second-degree assault in October.
