Metro Expecting High Ridership For Cherry Blossoms

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Metro is preparing for crowded conditions this weekend during the National Cherry Blossom Festival.

Metro says it is placing more eight car trains in service and cutting down on weekend track maintenance work during the festival, which runs through April 10.

Metro will also be opening two hours early, at 5 a.m., on Sunday for the 10 mile race associated with the festival.
