Bryce Harper Making Home Debut In Hagerstown

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- It'll be hard to find a seat at Hagerstown's Municipal Stadium as baseball's teenage dream makes his home field debut.

Bryce Harper and the Hagerstown Suns have their home opener Friday against the Lakewood Blue Claws.

The 18-year-old Harper was Major League Baseball's overall top draft choice last year. The Washington Nationals selected him and sent him to their Class-A affiliate in Hagerstown for seasoning.

Suns General Manager Bill Farley says the 4,600-seat stadium is virtually sold out. He says those who get in will find plenty of Bryce Harper jerseys for sale.

Hagerstown Mayor Bob Bruchey is throwing out the first pitch, and there will be fireworks after the game.
