Police Say No Injuries In Western Md. Incident

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- Police in Hagerstown say no one was hurt in a dispute that prompted officers to surround an apartment building near the city center.

Hagerstown Police Chief Arthur Smith says one man was taken to the police station after the incident was defused Tuesday afternoon in the 200-block of Summit Ave.

Smith says it began as a dispute between a third-floor resident and a man in the building's backyard.

He says police are trying to determine whether a shot was fired during the argument.
