Tinkerers Compete In Wacky, Human-Powered Art Race
BALTIMORE (AP) -- Tinkerers are competing in a wacky race of human-powered works of art.
The American Visionary Art Museum's Kinetic Sculpture Race starts Saturday morning in downtown Baltimore, but runs into the afternoon as pilots navigate the 15-mile land and water route complete with an uphill mud pit and not-so-quick-sand pit in their machines. If you can't make it in person, video of the race will be streamed online.
Pilots compete for the Mediocre Award and the Next-to-the-Last Award and more serious prizes including Art and Engineering.
