New Outlet Mall Slated For Prince George's County

OXON HILL, Md. (AP) -- Prince George's County shoppers could soon have a new outlet mall.

A developer has proposed building a mall for high-end outlet stores as part of the National Harbor development. The mall could open as soon as 2013 providing county shoppers a retail option in an area where many have complained there are few.

The $4 billion waterfront complex already has condominiums, stores, restaurants and hotels lining the Potomac River near the Woodrow Wilson Bridge.

Milton Peterson, chairman of the Peterson Cos., which opened National Harbor in 2008, says the addition is a significant milestone in the project's development.
