Report: Person Under Train At Metro Center

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Trains are sharing one track through the area of Metro Center after a person apparently jumped in front of a train.

Metro spokeswoman Angela Gates says authorities were called at about 12:50 p.m. after a report of a person being struck by a blue line train traveling in direction of Largo Town Center. Gates says witnesses saw the man place himself in path of an oncoming train.

Gates says the man has since been removed from under the train.

He has been transported to a local hospital but his condition is unknown.
