Talbot County OKs $66 Million Budget For 2012

EASTON, Md. (AP) -- The Talbot County Council has passed a nearly $66 million budget for fiscal 2012.

The budget uses about $67,000 from the contingency fund to balance it.

Sixteen county jobs will be eliminated, including eight current workers. The rest are vacant posts and a retirement.

In Tuesday's vote, the council added $10,000 salary for a part-time housing officer; $5,000 for housing department operations, and $20,000 to the county health department.
