Girl Slain In Gaithersburg Townhouse Was Stabbed
GAITHERSBURG, Md. (AP) -- Montgomery County police have confirmed that a 12-year-old girl found dead inside her Gaithersburg home was stabbed.
Police spokesman Capt. Paul Starks says investigators haven't established a motive or identified any suspects in the slaying of Jessica Nguyen, a sixth-grader at Gaithersburg Middle School. She was found dead last week inside the townhouse she shared with family members.
Starks says he can't disclose how many times the girl was stabbed or what sort of weapon was used. He says investigators aren't yet sure whether Jessica was killed by someone she knew or by a stranger.
He says investigators have interviewed the girl's relatives and friends.
