Update On Hagerstown, Charter Flights Planned

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- Hagerstown Regional Airport managers are giving the Washington County Commissioners an update on some new charter flights beginning later this month.

The airport's manager and assistant manager are set to speak to the board Tuesday morning.

Charter carrier Direct Air of Myrtle Beach, S.C., says it plans to begin service June 23 from Hagerstown to Myrtle Beach and Lakeland, Fla.

The company said last year that the Myrtle Beach service will be seasonal, from spring to fall, while the Lakeland flights will operate year-round.

The carrier's schedule shows two round-trip flights per week to each location. The flights are on Thursdays and Sundays.

Direct Air says it serves 20 airports on the East Coast and as far west as Illinois.
