CATONSVILLE, Md. (AP) — The Baltimore arena’s first new convent in decades has been dedicated in Catonsville.

The Baltimore Sun reports that Mount de Sales Academy welcomed more than 1,000 people on Sunday to view the newly built convent.

The building has some modern conveniences, including a work room with four computers. It also has a spacious kitchen with countertops made of St. Cecilia granite.

Eight sisters live in the convent, but the new building can hold 12. The eight nuns moved into the new convent three weeks ago.

The new convent was part of the $4 million first phase of fundraising at the school.
