Officials Say Heavy Traffic Expected At Bay Bridge

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- Maryland transportation officials are warning there will be heavier than normal traffic on the Bay Bridge due to a fundraising motorcycle ride.

The Anne Arundel County Burn Foundation's benefit ride is expected to reach the bridge about 10 a.m. Saturday. As many as 1,500 motorcyclists are expected to participate.

The Maryland Transportation Authority says it will direct the motorcycle group to the far right side of the toll plaza at the bridge. Officials also will implement two-way traffic to help ease delays.

Officials say the best times to avoid traffic on the bridge are Fridays before 10 a.m. or after 10 p.m., Saturdays before 7 a.m. or after 5 p.m. and Sundays before 11 a.m. and after 10 p.m.
