Prosecutor: Man Charged In Md. Murders Was Robber
WASHINGTON (AP) -- A federal prosecutor says a man charged in a double murder in Prince George's County was also a serial robber.
The Washington Post reports that Assistant U.S. Attorney Stacy Belf made the robbery accusation in federal court in Greenbelt during a pretrial hearing for Jason Thomas Scott.
Scott, 28, is charged in federal court with carjacking and sexually assaulting a minor, among other charges. Scott is also facing trial in Prince George's County Circuit Court on two counts of murder. He is scheduled to go on trial in November on those charges.
Police also have said Scott is a person of interest in a second double murder from 2009, and they are investigating whether he is responsible for a 2008 homicide.
