Md. Commission Approves Delmarva Rate Increase
BALTIMORE (AP) -- Maryland's Public Service commission has approved a rate increase for Delmarva Power and Light.
The commission gives Delmarva a $12.2 million distribution rate increase; the utility had requests a nearly $18 million hike. The PSC says the average increase in total month electric bills will be 1.4 percent, or $1.78 per month for customers using 1,000 kWh/month.
The rate hike went into effect July 8.
Delmarva serves Maryland's Eastern Shore and Cecil and Harford counties as well as Delaware.
